The open-plan ground floor features a comfortable sitting area with wood-burning stove, a sleek kitchen with stone worktops and a bold contemporary staircase with steel rails and oak treads. A mix of period and modern furniture, paintings and solid oak flooring creates a homely but elegant space.

Upstairs, a stunning reclaimed rolltop bath sits pride of place alongside new bathroom fittings. Two elegant double bedrooms with views over the glen feature designer wallpaper, the best beds and fine cotton linen. Little touches include unstinting storage for outdoor garments, a huge wall mounted map of the region, and an all-important separate drinks fridge.

The rear of the house has a large private garden with mature plants and a stream running through it. A waterfall cascades over the stone dyke near the sunny patio, providing a wonderfully relaxing background for eating outdoors or enjoying a quiet drink. 

From the front of the house there is a beautiful view across the rolling fields of sheep grazing and down the glen beyond.

There is a games room, shared with the holiday cottage next door, with pool table, table tennis and darts.

Heating and hotwater is provided by a biomass boiler which runs on waste timber from the estate, and the cottage is very well insulated, so not only is it warm but extremely environmentally friendly too.

Weekly lets are Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks are available during the off peak and mid season only, i.e. not July-August or half term weeks. 3 day minimum stay. Please send an enquiry via HomeAway, above.

We welcome well behaved dogs and respectful owners! Dogs are not allowed upstairs and must sleep in the utility room overnight. As this is a working estate so dogs must be kept under control and on a lead around livestock. They can be excercised freely in the 5 acre Millennium Wood near by.
